Maple Mini
Maple Mini is a breadboard compatible version of Maple with a small form factor. Despite its low cost and small size, it carries substantial processing power on board.
Note: The Maple Mini does not come with the USB cable (mini-B style) required to power or upload programs using the USB bus. You can buy these from most local electronics/convenience stores, or quite likely have one lying around for use with a cellphone or other USB device.
For a short list of known issues with this revision of Maple Mini (rev2), see the errata page.
Maple
Our Maple board consists of the essentials: a fast processor with lots of peripherals. At the center of Maple is a 72MHz ARM Cortex M3 chip, providing the increased computational power desired by more advanced users. In the past, ARM processors were notoriously unfriendly in non-professional environments due to proprietary tool chains and unfamiliar instruction sets. Because of this, they were conspicuously absent from classrooms and hobbyists’ workbenches. Leaf aims to change this by providing an ARM tool-chain built from open source components and a programming environment that is intuitively easy to use. For those of us who love and are familiar with Arduino, Maple is offered in an Arduino-compatible format, complete with Arduino pin layouts and programming environment. In the future, a Cortex native version will be available in order to take full advantage of this fantastic micro-controller.
Note: The Maple does not come with the USB cable (mini-B style) required to power or upload programs using the USB bus. You can buy these from most local electronics/convenience stores, or quite likely have one lying around for use with a cellphone or other USB device.

Maple RET6 Edition
The Maple is based around the STM32F103RBT6 (henceforth RBT6) processor. This processor is what gives Maple 20KB of RAM, 128KB of Flash and all the great peripherals you are (by now) used to using. There is another chip, however, that may one day take the place of the RBT6, the STM32F103RET6 (henceforth RET6). The RET6 has over 3 times the RAM (64KB), 4 times the Flash memory (512KB), and many additional peripherals (like DACs!) not present on the RBT6.
We have not had a chance to make a whole new Maple version based around the RET6 yet. However, the two chips are pin compatible, so we have produced a limited run of standard Maple Rev5s where in place of the RBT6, we have substituted the RET6 processor!
The Maple RET6 Edition is a special and limited run that has not quite been productized. That is to say, the silkscreen is missing some information related to the RET6. We are considering the Maple RET6 Edition a beta device! For a short list of known issues with this revision of the Maple RET6, see the errata page.
New! Maple Native Beta
Maple Native, currently in beta, features similar hardware as the Maple, but diverges from the Arduino form factor and circuit board layout. The STM32 is an amazing chip that deserves a personalized layout. Breaking Arduino hardware compatibility makes Maple Native an even more capable embedded development platform than the original Maple. Maple Native not only incrementally improves many of Maple’s capabilities, but also provides built-in support for analog output and features 1 MB of onboard RAM. Unlike other advanced microcontroller platforms, Maple Native delivers these improvements while maintaining Arduino-style libraries and programming environment.
